The Account Transactions Screen

The Accounts Transactions Screen has a look and feel similar to a traditional checkbook ledger, and the function is also very similar. It provides a list of the transactions which have been made to and from this Account. The fields of the transaction records are displayed in the columns of the grid.

Sorting

The data can be sorted by clicking on the column header you wish to sort by. A small black arrow will appear to indicate which direction the data is sorted by. Clicking on a column which already has the sorting arrow will cause the sort order to be reversed.

Filtering

The fields just above the column headers is for filtering the data. By making selections in these boxes, you can make it so that only records that match your settings will be shown. This will prevent the program from becoming too slow when displaying Accounts with large numbers of transactions. The default setting is to display only unpassed transactions which occurred within the past month.

The Balance Fields

The Accounts Transactions Screen has two fields near the top labeled "Statement Balance" and "Budgetizer Balance". The "Budgetizer Balance" represents the sum total of all transactions in the account. This amount should be equal to the amount of money currently in the account. The "Statement Balance" represents the sum total of all transactions in the account which have been marked as "passed". This amount should represent the amount which your bank statement shows as being in your Account after reconciling Budgetizer with your bank statement.

Tool Buttons

The Accounts Transactions Screen tool bar includes buttons for adding transactions, namely credits, debits, and transfers. These buttons will bring up the Transaction Wizard, which will enable you to add transactions.
There are also buttons for editing and deleting transactions.
The import button will allow you to import data from a file, such as data from an online banking site or from another program.
Using the search button will bring up the Search Dialog and allow you to search for specific transactions in the account.
Finally, there is a print button, which will print a report of the current view (your chosen display settings at the tops of the columns will affect what is printed on this report).
